William Hibbert founded The Hibbert Group in 1881. His family and loyal employees were there beside him. They shared in the toil, satisfaction, and spirit of a team building a special kind of business.

In 1936, our modern history began when J.J. Moonan and family purchased the company. Taking care of employees and customers was J.J.'s passion. He rode the train from Trenton into New York City just about every day for some 30 years. “Customers deserve personal attention”, said J.J. Some say J.J. may well have invented the modern concept of literature fulfillment and on-demand printing. His son, Bob, succeeded him in 1966. The passion continued. Business boomed.

“Always remember, the heritage of The Hibbert Group dictates we take care of our employees,” stated Bob. He was a visionary. An industry leader and superb businessman. He led the company’s fast growth into the 1990’s, always faithful to his father's commitment that the company serve employees, customers, and community. Bob passed away in 1991. Today, The Hibbert Group remains owned by the Moonan family, with Bob’s wife, Joan Moonan, serving as Chairman Emeritas. Tom and Tim Moonan are Co-Chairmen of the Board with Tim having additional responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer.

Into the 21st century, we continue to draw inspiration and vision from J.J. and Bob Moonan.
